The Inception of Race Forward
Daniel, the founder of Race Forward CIC, began his journey with a passion for creating opportunities for Black and Mixed Heritage students, inspired by his own experiences. During his second year of university, he launched BMEN (Black Male Empowerment Network), an initiative focused on supporting Black men through employability events and opportunities. Since then, Daniel has continued to work towards empowering the next generation, ultimately founding Race Forward CIC to invest in Black and Mixed Heritage futures through academic scholarships and industry exposure.
One of BMEN’s most notable achievements was the ‘More to Life Conference’ in 2018, which addressed knife crime and its impact on Black men. The success of the event earned Daniel a spot as a TARGETJob Top 10 Undergraduate of the Year for Impactful Social Action and his commitment to tackling societal issues.
After finishing education and obtaining corporate experience, Daniel realised it was time to relaunch the mission with a more expansive perspective. This time, he broadened his mission to include both Black and Mixed Heritage individuals. His strong personal commitment to the subject arises from watching the difficulties that members of his community encounter in receiving the assistance they require. Daniel is devoted to providing students with the tools they need to thrive through Race Forward's scholarships and events, whether that means financial aid or job exposure.
